2023 marks 35 years of the MPC, from not so humble beginnings as a revolutionary sampling drum machine, the stylish retro colour scheme is a nod to the past - while the latest technology crammed under the hood is focussed on the future. It’s clear that the MPC-X SE was conceived to cement Akai’s position as the brand for hardware-based beat creation.

Built around a powerful quad-core ARM processor, which is linked to 4GB of RAM, the MPC-X SE is perfectly capable of becoming the heart of a DAW-less setup. The impressive connectivity - whether taken from an audio, MIDI or data standpoint – ensures that every piece of hardware you own can be controlled by the MPC. Sampling straight into the SE is a breeze thanks to the dedicated phono stage, if you’re stuck for a sound simply sign into your Splice account a grab whatever you need from the millions of sounds available.

While the MPC-X SE is right at the forefront of today’s beat-making tech, it inherits many features that have shaped the world of electronic music throughout the years. From the velocity sensitive 16-pad grid layout, through to the classic MPC swing, and of course note repeat as well as 16 levels – every Akai innovation you would expect to find is here, ready to take your music to the next level.

Building on the legacy of MPC, the standalone platform blends seamless touchscreen technology with more I/O than ever and wireless integrations including WIFI and Bluetooth. It’s all too easy to overlook the pace of development of MPC OS over the past few years since the launch of the original MPC-X. Now with Ableton Link 3 on board and a huge collection of synths, insert FX and MPC expansions available – no matter what style of music you create the MPC-X SE is the perfect production partner. Combine the 20 included instruments with the Notes and Chords modes to create musical phrases to compliment your samples.

All items are sent with DPD. For added security, expensive items will require a pin code at delivery which is emailed to you.

DPD aims to deliver next day, but some remote parts of the UK may experience a two day service.

Returns.

Should you wish to change your mind, you have 30 days from the date of receipt to do so. Simply drop us an email to info@westenddj.co.uk and we'll guide you through the process.

Westend DJ recommend that you open any items received from us carefully, as any damage to the internal packaging or missing items may incur a discretionary re-stocking fee.

Some goods are not eligible for return. This is because they are either consumables or due to hygiene reasons, these include: microphones, effect fluids, styli, crossfaders and line faders, headphones and replacement parts.

    manufacturer warranty.
  • Items that are faulty within thirty days of receipt are
    considered Dead on Arrival or Faulty out of Box. For these returns, we will arrange for the goods to be collected so that they can be returned free of
    charge.
  • Items that display a fault after the thirty-day period are covered under manufacturer’s warranty. During the first six months of ownership, we’ll collect any faulty items from you free of charge where convenient for you.
  • Outside of 6 months, the cost of return rests with the
    customer, if you’re struggling to ship a large item back to us, or if this is proving to be expensive please give us a call – we’ll arrange for DPD to collect the item for a fee.
  • Once warranty repairs are received back with us, we’ll perform a quick test to verify the issue to avoid no fault found fees. Next, we’ll arrange to send the faulty goods to the manufacturer to be repaired. This process normally takes around two to four weeks; however, we cannot provide a guaranteed timeframe.
