A proven concept, evolved
RMX DJ effectors have been a core part of many DJs’ creative toolkits for over a decade, building on the foundations laid by the earlier EFX range. Originally conceived as complementary effects units for DJM mixers, the EFX series became synonymous with feedback-based techniques for amplifying breakdowns and build-ups. As sampling was introduced, the RMX line evolved into an industry standard for live remix performance.
The RMX-IGNITE brings this concept fully up to date, delivering improved sound quality, digital send/return, and a streamlined workflow - particularly when exiting effects. It also integrates with the Pro DJ Link system, enabling perfectly synchronised effect chains across compatible setups.
Take control
With a larger footprint, the cramped operation of previous RMX units is now a thing of the past. Controls are arranged into four clearly defined sections: global parameter controls, Lever FX, Isolate FX, and a dedicated sampler section with loop recording.
Effects can be triggered via levers - pushing down activates a short burst, while lifting up locks the effect in place - or via the Isolate FX section. Here, three large pots allow effects to be applied selectively across the frequency spectrum, with precise control over how much colour is added. Both effect groups feature sub-parameters that alter behaviour depending on the selected FX.
Global controls include tempo adjustment and a master echo timing control, which locks all echo-based effects together for cohesive, synchronised movements across Echo, Solo and Tape Echo.
Once you’ve created the ultimate build-up, transitioning back into the music is effortless. A single press of the large Release Echo button instantly resets all applied effects and samples, returning smoothly to the original track with an echo tail. Two modes are available: Dry, which restores the track naturally while maintaining flow, and Mute, which cuts the sound completely to create a dramatic break before playback resumes.
Create your rhythm section
The RMX-IGNITE features a substantially upgraded sampler section compared to the RMX-1000. Larger sample pads make finger-drumming far more intuitive, while the X-Pad has been replaced with ten sample roll buttons that can be combined to introduce rhythmic variation into your loops.
The sampler supports up to 16 seconds of total audio playback, with pads 3 and 4 capable of handling both one-shot samples and longer looped phrases. Up to 15 user banks can be saved to a USB drive and imported using the new sample management tool. Thanks to Pro DJ Link integration, these banks can be stored on the same USB drive as your tracks loaded into CDJs. A dedicated set of sampler effects is also included, allowing for deeper personalisation of your loops.
Your sound - enhanced
Audio fidelity takes a major step forward with the RMX-IGNITE. The unit maintains a neutral sonic character, leaving tonal shaping to your mixer of choice, while improvements to the audio engine deliver increased loudness and dynamic range. This eliminates limitations found in older effectors that struggled to match the audio quality of modern mixers such as the DJM-A9 and DJM-V10.
The RMX-IGNITE features studio-quality 96 kHz / 64-bit mixing DSP processing, alongside high-grade 32-bit A/D and D/A converters from ESS Technology on both input and output - ensuring performance that remains relevant for years to come.
Stay in sync
With both Pro DJ Link and Digital Send/Return onboard, the RMX-IGNITE can sync BPM and grid information directly from tracks playing on CDJs and other compatible players. This guarantees precise beat alignment when using roll and overdub functions.
Samples can be loaded directly from USB drives or SD cards connected to players via Pro DJ Link, and setup is streamlined via a single USB connection to the MULTI I/O terminal on a compatible mixer. Because audio is transmitted digitally, sound remains clean and powerful, while additional data such as BPM is carried alongside the signal.
Visual feedback
A large multicolour display in the top-left corner of the unit provides clear visual feedback, showing 3-band FX sub-parameters, loaded samples, selected Sampler Colour FX, BPM, and input/output levels. Samples can also be browsed and selected directly from the screen, allowing you to stay fully focused on your performance. When used with Pro DJ Link, this screen also shows grid position relative to the master track in the system.
