2 x SSL Mic Pre / Line-level Inputs
The SSL 2+ MKII is equipped with two high-performance SSL-designed microphone preamps. Delivering a massive 64 dB gain range and outstanding 116.5 dB dynamic range, the mic-pre’s sound amazing, with all the detail and punch you’d expect from the world’s leading mixing console manufacturer. The design uses a mixture of specially chosen discrete low-noise transistors in combination with ICs to deliver performance far beyond what’s usually associated with a portable bus-powered interface. The SSL 2+ MKII’s ultra-low-noise preamps are capable of getting the best out of any mic. Both channels are equipped with independently switchable High Pass Filters to clean up rumble, and for condenser microphones, switchable +48V phantom power so you can record with a mixture of microphone types at the same time.

The combo XLR inputs found on SSL 2+ MKII also double up as line-level inputs, designed to capture keyboards, synths, samplers, drum machines, or external audio processors like EQs and compressors. With a huge 117 dB dynamic range and +24 dBu maximum input level, SSL 2+ MKII’s line inputs are compatible with all professional line-level equipment.

4 x Balanced Outputs
Located on the rear of the SSL 2+ MKII are four balanced outputs for connecting your studio monitors, rackmount kit, FX pedals, and more. With professional-grade outputs, the SSL 2+ MKII delivers 120 dB dynamic range, allowing you to hear every detail in your productions—from the most subtle riff to the deepest bassline.

2 x Headphone Outputs
The SSL 2+ MKII features dual headphone outputs conveniently located on the front panel. These re-engineered outputs (featuring high-current NJM headphone amps) are capable of driving any type of headphones, from small in-ear monitors to large-diaphragm models. Now boasting a jaw-dropping 119.5 dB dynamic range (MK I previously 111 dB), you have all the performance and clarity needed for accurate monitoring in any environment. SSL 2+ MKII’s ‘Mix’ control located on the front panel allows you to blend between the USB output (DAW) and live inputs, for zero latency monitoring. Headphone outputs ‘A’ and ‘B’ feature independent volume control and can also be fed from different DAW outputs; perfect for creating independent 'artist' and 'engineer' monitor mixes.

2 x Hi-Z/Instruments inputs
In addition to the mic/line inputs, SSL 2+ MKII features two dedicated auto-detect instrument (DI) inputs located on the front. Just like you find on a guitar amp, these Hi-Z inputs allow you to record guitar, bass, or anything with a high impedance output. SSL-designed DI’s - as found on their larger desk-top mixers - deliver amazing weight, detail, and texture to your instrument recordings, making sure you have the best possible sound to process in your DAW.

Legacy 4K Analogue Enhancement Circuit
The SSL 4000 series consoles (often referred to as ‘4K’) are renowned for imparting a unique ‘mojo’ to sounds and instruments that pass through them. This mojo comes from multiple stages of harmonic distortion from compressor VCAs, VCA faders, and other crucial components such as the transistor mix amps. Using modern components, SSL has developed a circuit that distils the two essential characteristics of the 4K sound into a single design. Legacy 4K Analogue Enhancement injects a controlled amount of finely-tuned, sweet-sounding harmonic distortion and a ‘forward’ yet musical high-frequency EQ boost into the signal path, giving your sound the 4K mojo and presence that artists and engineers have loved for decades.

Next-Gen 32-bit 192 kHz
SSL knows that high-quality audio conversion is essential for artists and engineers alike and the SSL 2+ MKII is built around their next-gen 32-bit 192 kHz converters. The result? Clearer, more detailed recordings, preserving every nuance of your performance. Capture stunning acoustic performances, record drum machines and synths with more punch and texture. Make your live streams sound like professional broadcasts and mix quicker and easier as sounds are more defined.

Professional Studio Quality, Front To Back
Whether it’s the professional-grade mic preamps, Neutrik XLR and jack connectors and ALPs pots, or the exceptional level of performance delivered from next-gen convertors - all SSL products, including SSL 2+ MK II offer pro studio quality, from the front to the back. The MKII range of interfaces features updated switches on the front panel with status LEDs so you know exactly how your device is configured when recording.
