Technics SL-1210GR2 Direct Drive Turntable
Next-gen sound, classic Technics feel
The next evolution in the iconic Technics SL-1210 family has landed - meet the SL-1210GR2. This deck might look familiar on the outside, but under the hood, it’s a whole new beast. Designed with next-gen audio performance in mind, it’s built for DJs and vinyl lovers who want that signature Technics feel with even more precision, less noise, and jaw-dropping clarity.
At the heart of the GR2 is the all-new ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive) – a completely redesigned motor-drive system that takes everything we loved about the original coreless direct drive and supercharges it. What does that mean in the booth or studio? Zero cogging. No micro-vibrations. Just rock-solid rotation and razor-sharp pitch control, even during intense mixes or backspins.
Technics pioneered the direct drive game back in 1970 – and the GR2 brings that same spirit of innovation into the future. The motor’s been reworked from the ground up: it’s coreless, single-rotor, and smoother than ever. Add in a redefined power supply system that actively cancels noise and hum using a combo of high-speed switching and inverse-phase current injection (yep, that’s as serious as it sounds), and you’ve got the cleanest signal path Technics has ever delivered in a DJ-ready deck.
Let’s talk tonearm: still the same classic S-shape we all know and love, but now fine-tuned by hand for ultra-sensitive tracking – down to just 5 mg of motion. Whether you're cutting doubles or letting a deep house roller play out, it’s built to follow every groove with total precision. Plus, it comes with an auxiliary weight so you can run heavier carts or switch up your setup with ease.
The platter? Total upgrade. It’s dual-layer design is loaded with damping rubber and extra mass – 2x the vibration-killing power of the old MK5 platter. It’s quieter, tighter, and way more stable at speed, keeping your tracks locked no matter how hard you push it.
Other features DJs will dig:
- Customisable pitch range and silky-smooth pitch control
- Gold-plated RCA terminals for detachable cables and cleaner signal flow
- Silicon-damped isolation feet that hold steady even when the booth gets wild
