A few weeks ago, we were lucky enough to get an early look at the EP–40 (RIDDIM) and EP–2350 (TING) from Teenage Engineering. We’ve been big fans of the ep-series for a while - the 133 and 1320 already live in the studios of several members of the Westend DJ team - but these new machines instantly hit different.
The SUPERTONE engine delivers an authentic, heavyweight sound, and the sample curation captures the deep influence of dub and reggae perfectly. That sound has shaped the UK’s musical DNA for decades - fuelling jungle, speed garage, dubstep and beyond - with its unmistakable energy still echoing through clubs, festivals, and studios today.
So, with weDJ Expo fast approaching, we teamed up with Teenage Engineering to celebrate the launch in true sound system style - and the Secret Soundclash was born.
Get ready for Secret Soundclash, where UK bass culture meets modern beat science and authentic dub vibes. Producers will go head-to-head, creating tracks using the new Teenage Engineering EP–40 (RIDDIM) and EP–2350 (TING) - no outside samples, just pure creativity.
From 10am, contestants can dive in with help from Will from Teenage Engineering, before the 1pm judging session featuring DJ Hype, Will, and a special guest.
