Why Sound Quality Still Matters More Than Features
Good sound matters. It’s a vital part of the entertainment world, from mobile DJs to permanent venues. A well-designed PA system can make or break the night for everyone who steps onto the dancefloor. Technology continues to play a key role in live sound, shaping how event companies spec their systems - from wireless control through to tools that ensure even coverage across a space. Keeping up with these developments can be the difference between positive word of mouth and an empty dancefloor.
That said, 2025 was a relatively restrained year for PA. Progress was steady rather than spectacular, with manufacturers focusing on refinement, reliability and real-world performance rather than headline-grabbing reinvention.
RCF: Low-End Authority and Controlled Power
RCF was the clear standout, releasing enough new products - and meaningful updates - to keep us on our toes throughout the year. Low frequencies were a particular focus, with the new AS series subwoofers (SUB 15-AS and SUB 18-AS) delivering serious weight and control. The launch of the 9000 Series pushed things further still: the SUB 9016 (16-inch) and SUB 9019 (19-inch) need to be heard to be believed - and no, those woofer sizes aren’t typos.
RCF didn’t stop at subwoofers. The new KX range delivers impressive sound quality at staggeringly high SPLs for such compact enclosures, reinforcing RCF’s reputation for systems that sound as good in practice as they do on paper.
Since opening our new showroom in September, we’ve been fortunate to have a wide selection of RCF systems available for demo, including ART 7, ART 9, EVOX, SUB 9000, SUB AS and even HDL. If you’re considering a PA upgrade, we’d always recommend hearing systems in person - and we invite you to drop into our NW2 DJ superstore for a proper listen.

JBL: Familiar Foundations, Smarter Execution
JBL made a solid contribution to the PA landscape in 2025 with the introduction of the PRX925 and PRX935, expanding the well-established PRX line-up. These new models refine what the series already does well: reliability, consistency and ease of deployment.
Updated amplification, improved DSP and networked control make the PRX925 and PRX935 a strong choice for mobile DJs, production companies and fixed installations looking for a dependable, scalable system. We currently have the PRX925 on demo at our NW2 branch, where it’s proven to be a capable all-rounder, delivering the familiar PRX sound with a noticeable step up in clarity and output.

Alto Professional: Sensible Expansion for Real-World Use
Alto Professional took a measured approach in 2025, expanding the TrueSonic range with two new column systems: the TS108C and TS112C, offering 8-inch and 12-inch woofer options respectively. These additions increase flexibility for mobile DJs, small events and corporate setups where fast setup and portability matter.

The release of the TMD16 digital mixer also attracted interest, particularly from small bands and houses of worship seeking straightforward digital mixing without unnecessary complexity. It’s a practical addition that aligns well with Alto’s value-driven approach.
Looking Ahead: Quiet Confidence, Loud Results
While 2025 may have been a year of refinement for PA, 2026 is already shaping up very differently. Without giving anything away, we know that there's some genuinely exciting developments lined up from January and continuing throughout the year. If last year was about consolidating performance and reliability, what’s coming next feels far more forward-looking. As ever, we’ll be focusing on real-world sound quality and practical application and we’re looking forward to getting these next-generation systems in front of people, where they can be heard properly.
